Don’t Ever Lose Site!

5d89c6ee8b75a9b75daddf7fbdfe91c0Walt’s famous line, “Never lose sight of one thing, that it was all started by a mouse.” My gosh, that mouse has built some of the most magnificent entertainment attractions in the history of mankind! I can’t imagine another company ever being able to compete to what Disney is doing today. Just take, Celebrate the Magic castle show at the Magic Kingdom for example. The show has to be one of the most beautiful, technologically advanced projection show on the planet. If you have not had a chance to see it yet, you are missing a treat. Yes, you can few the whole show on YouTube but it does not come close. I would liken to say it is like saying you have seen the Grand Canyon via pictures on the Internet versus seeing it live, and in person.

Disney Imagineers used NASA technology to do a 3D scan of the castle to use in the projections. You see, if you just project a normal picture on a non-flat surface, it will be deformed, and unrecognizable. What Disney did was no easy task. Then the art and creativity of the Imagineers took over, and we get the most beautiful displays that sync with music and fireworks.

The show scenes change with the different seasons and new Disney movies, but there is a few staple scenes that make it into almost all the shows. From animation to clips from movies the castle is transformed to look like everything from a circus tent, to a gingerbread house, to the night sky as lanterns from Disney’s Rapunzel float up as if it was all real. The sight is amazing, and looks so real.

castle celebrate the magic_0The show usually takes place prior to and following Wishes, every evening. I, myself, try not ever to miss it when I’m visiting the park. It’s that good! Then, in perfect Disney style, Walt himself closes the show with his classic line, “Let’s never lose sight of one thing, it was all started my a mouse.”

Enjoy the pics and if you have some of your own, please feel free to share them here! For more information, check out Disney Parks Blog.
