Cronut? What’s a Cronut? 1

CronutAfter hearing so many rave reviews I knew I had to try this new sweet treat. As I turned right, toward Canada in The World Showcase I stopped at the Refreshment Port for a croissant doughnut.

It smelled delicious. It was warm and covered in cinnamon and sugar. I was not sure what to expect. I heard that it was not a croissant but a normal doughnut just cooked differently to give it a more airy, lighter taste and feel. After one bit they were correct as it was not a dense, cake like sweet. I liken it to a cross between an italian zeppole and a funnel cake.

Now, let me preface this with a disclaimer. I don’t eat funnel cakes because it upsets my stomach because they tend to soak up the grease. With that said, it was tasty. Who does not like cinnamon and sugar? It was definitely warm and fresh. The inside was as airy and light as I’ve heard. It was however, not to my tummies liking so I did not finish it.

So, I would definitely recommend it to those who like doughnuts and funnel cakes. I’m just going to pass.
